Teatr Pies´n Kozła’s
Macbeth
Wednesday 6th October at 7.30pm
Thursday 7th October at 7.30pm
Friday 8th October at 7.30pm
Shakespeare’s tragedy retold in a
powerful
new production the award-winning
Polish
company Teatr Pieśń Kozła (Song of
the
Goat Theatre).

Beginning its life during the RSC’s
complete
works season in Stratford upon Avon
and created over two years, this ground-breaking production of
Macbeth re-imagines Shakespeare’s tale of murder and madness
through an intricately crafted combination of text, movement and
polyphonic song.
Presented by an international ensemble
of eight extraordinary performers, the production explores the
musicality and muscularity of Shakespeare’s poetry and the colours
and sounds of his extraordinary language. The story is there,
the
characters are there, but in
witnessing the drama realized through a uniquely imaginative
physical and vocal language we understand the story anew.
Teatr Piesń Kozła’s Macbeth is at once
beautiful and chilling, shifting seamlessly from dramatic scene, to
visceral movement and soaring song and astounding its audience with
the power of its performers.
The tour of Teatr Pieśń Kozła’s
Macbeth has been supported by The Point, Eastleigh, ACE and the
Instytut Adama Mickiewicza.
