Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) Satellite Centre

Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) Satellite Centre,
Hampshire
The Point is delighted to be working with the
world-renowned dance centre The Place, London in hosting a unique
satellite centre for their CAT scheme to provide young people aged
10 – 14 the opportunity to develop their potential in dance.
Auditions will be held at The Point on
Saturday 11th February. Successful candidates will
then take part in a course of contemporary dance technique classes
and creative workshops over the spring and summer terms. In
addition to this participants will have the chance to take part in
a taster day at The Place and have the amazing opportunity to
create a new dance piece with a professional choreographer and
perform it at The Place in their annual summer show.
Applicants will be assessed on their training
potential and must demonstrate passion, commitment and enthusiasm
for dance. Young people with a strong interest in dance regardless
of whether they have had any previous formal dance training are
encouraged to apply.
The scheme is open to young people aged 10 -
14 years old (applicants must have turned 10 by 1st September
2011).
