Elevate! Summer School
After the huge success of last year's Elevate! The Point
is delighted to confirm Elevate! Summer School No 2...
Take yourself to the next level with The Point’s
intensive summer schools.
Elevate is aimed specifically at young dancers aged 14 – 21
years old who are currently in, or aspiring to be in, professional
vocational dance training.
Elevate offers a taste of professional training and the chance
for students to keep in shape during summer holidays. During
Elevate we will select two dancers to receive an exclusive Point
Placement – an exciting package of free classes, performances and
shadowing opportunities.
This year Elevate spans two weeks, with the option of taking
part in just one week or going for both!
Elevate: Train
Monday 11th – Friday 15th August
10.00am – 4.00pm
Cost: £100
You will experience an invaluable week
of dance classes and workshops taught by some of the country’s
leading dancers and teachers. There will be sessions in
a variety of dance styles and
techniques, such as contemporary, ballet, Pilates, jazz and hip
hop. At the end of the week you can invite friends and family to an
informal sharing where they can see what you’ve learnt.
Elevate: Create
Monday 18th – Friday 22nd August
10.00am – 4.00pm
Cost: £100
If you have ever dreamt of being a
choreographer but don’t know where to start then this is the week
for you! Focusing on creating and choreographing your own dance
pieces in a relaxed and stimulating environment, you will
work with a number of high profile contemporary choreographers.
