YPT weekly drama workshops

Members attend weekly workshops that are divided into age groups.  Workshops are led by professional practitioners and concentrate on theatre and performance skills.  Prices are based on a ten week term and the YPT operates three terms a year.

Engage

Saturday

The Engage workshops provide the basics of stagecraft and voice work, whilst at the same time building confidence through group work, basic storytelling, theatre and performance.

10.00am - 11.15am (7 - 9 years)

11.30am - 12.45pm (10 - 11 years)

£48 per term or £90 for two terms

Enhance

Monday

Building on the basics, and delving a little deeper. By understanding the importance of the story, the characters and the situations, the Enhance sessions will focus on creating rounded characters through expression and physicality.

5.00pm - 6.45pm (12 - 13 years)

7.00pm - 8.45pm (14 - 15 years)

£54 per term or £102 for two terms

Enliven

Thursday

Enliven sessions prepare members to take responsibility for the work they produce, and the stories they tell in performance. Members work in much more practical detail and explore all types of theatre. There is a safe environment to take theatrical risks, make bolder decisions and create stronger characters all of which develop the individual’s professional capability.

6.00pm - 8.00pm (16 - 20 years)

£60 per term or £115 for two terms

YPT Backstagers

For ages 12 - 20 years

If you’re looking to be involved with a youth theatre but don’t really want to perform, the YPT have opportunities where you can be involved backstage.

It’s these people that really make the magic happen, and without the backstage crew, designers, stage management and directors, none of the projects could take place.

Whether it’s helping out on shows or being invited to special workshops with theatre professionals these opportunities really are to good to miss!
